As part of the Group, you will join the newly established Group Underwriting Office, which aims to enhance the performance of our insurance portfolio while focusing on technical excellence. Within this department, you will be a member of the Group CUO Operations & Transformation Team, a strategic function that collaborates with AXA GUO and AXA GIE to empower the organization through partnership, support, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Your Job and Daily Responsibilities:
Job Purpose
Your primary responsibility will be to develop and manage the GUO budget, ensuring alignment with our Technical Excellence strategy while supporting operational and ad-hoc priorities.
Assist the broader GUO Transformation & Operations Team with operational and administrative tasks.

The newly formed Global Chief Underwriting Office is tasked with driving profitability and growth through strategic product underwriting, portfolio design, and technical underwriting excellence in collaboration with AXA Entities for both Commercial and Retail sectors.
The CUO Transformation & Operations team, led by the Head of Group CUO Transformation & Operations, is responsible for executing the CUO strategy at all levels.
Key Accountabilities
You will provide support to the GUO Head of Operations and Engagement, collaborating closely with the Group Transformation & Operations Team and GUO team across GIE and entities as necessary. Facilitate teamwork across departments and act as a key liaison to address the needs and expectations of internal and external stakeholders.
This role will involve managing high-level projects and coordinating sensitive information to aid decision-making, necessitating strict confidentiality regarding business and employee matters.
You will be accountable for:
GUO Budget
- Overseeing the AXA GUO Budget with a strategic outlook, ensuring we plan for the future as part of our strategic initiatives to support investments in our Technical Excellence Plan. Specific responsibilities include:
- Establishing a GUO Financial/Budget process to facilitate the creation and management of the GUO Budget and liaising with Cost Centre owners as needed.
- Collaborating with the GUO Leadership Team to set the budget based on priorities and ensuring investments in key strategic areas.
- Submitting the budget using planning tools and ensuring adherence to planning and reforecast timelines.
- Managing accruals for the GUO and ensuring timely submissions within the AXA Group timeframe.
- Providing regular (monthly) and ad-hoc reports to the GUO Leadership Team on actuals versus budget.
- Identifying savings opportunities through analysis to support reinvestment into GUO Technical Excellence priorities.
- Tracking, monitoring, and reporting on savings.
- Partnering with the AXA CFO reporting Team to ensure budget comprehension.
- Addressing ad-hoc inquiries and topics.
Additionally, you will assist the GUO Head of Operations and Engagement by providing administrative support to the GUO Transformation & Operations function, including:
- Leading meetings and workshops with meticulous planning and coordination, ensuring clear agendas, outcomes, and minutes, while tracking deliverables.
- Steering strategic projects and initiatives from inception to completion within your scope.
- Completing special projects and initiatives with appropriate oversight.
- Identifying and resolving issues with operational processes and procedures.
- Preparing and modifying documents, including correspondence, reports, drafts, presentations, and emails.
- Building and leveraging a robust network of relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop coordinated views on GUO, Transformation & Operations Management topics.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Supporting the GUO Head of Operations and Engagement with procurement and outsourced services as necessary, ensuring alignment with GUO Technical Excellence ambitions.
