As the EMESA DEI Senior Director, you will be responsible for leading the direction of DEI strategy, processes, and practices for EMESA. This includes overseeing the direction of DEI strategy, processes, and practices for EMESA, reporting into EMESA People Chair and EMESA CHRO. You will also be responsible for leading the dialog with the Systems, supporting them in development and delivery of programs and efforts focused on the recruitment, development, and retention of diverse staff across all levels of seniority, as well as running some programs on the regional level.

You will work closely with regional People Team Senior Director and People Chair and with the leaders of the various diversity initiatives, identifying strategies, priorities, and plans of action required to meet the diversity objectives and aspirations of EMESA. You will establish working relationships between DEI and the markets, as well as with the other people functions in the region, including senior stakeholders from the region as needed.

You will use expertise and knowledge of best practices to design, develop, and implement regional strategic initiatives to improve the diversity of the workforce and promote an inclusive culture for all employees. This includes regional recruiting events, conferences, Accelerate Inclusion online sessions, and other initiatives.

You will provide the information and tools to enable senior leaders (Regional Chair, Regional People Chair, EMESA DEI Chair, and others) to champion and integrate the diversity and inclusion strategy. You will track key metrics on regional and local levels to measure progress on key indicators and initiatives.

You will flag patterns and trends proactively and think through solutions. You will understand, diagnose, and respond to issues facing the business and the various diverse cohorts. You will develop presentations and other materials related to communicating the strategy for diversity in EMESA.

You will be closely engaged with the global DEI team on all strategic initiatives and make sure EMESA needs are heard. You will be the bridge between global efforts and the regional leadership team at large, bringing the global agenda to the region.

You will drive change and support execution and ensure effective execution of regional efforts for networks, systems, and PAs. You will work closely with the EMESA DEI Recruiting team to ensure the effective recruitment of diverse populations into BCG. You will explore programs to ensure the individual development and success of diversity cadres.

You will run regional affiliation efforts and work with markets to share affiliation activities across, potentially joining forces for some. You will work with the L&D team to design and deliver diversity and inclusion education and training necessary to continue to raise awareness of diversity and inclusion efforts across the entire EMESA population.

You will coordinate with the legal team on compliance topics as needed. You will budget plan for regional activities, including network-specific budgets. You will ensure the right sizing of the DEI team for the region and manage and develop the EMESA DEI team.

You will serve as the lead "voice" on diversity and inclusion in the region, advancing efforts to ensure awareness of goals and aspirations remain high. You will develop and execute regional communication strategy for EMESA. You will support internal communication efforts across a distributed set of audiences and forums/channels for communication.

  • A university degree or equivalent in social sciences, business, or a related field, as well as extensive experience across people topics including DEI.
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in DEI and/or People topics (ideally with 3+ years in DEI), including leadership in a professional services environment and a proven track record in a management position, leading cross-functional teams, and solving complex problems for business functions with significant business impact.
  • Background in consulting roles as a plus.
  • Fluency in English and ideally one more EMESA language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced communication skills: oral, written, and active listening (including senior leadership presentations/meetings).
  • Familiarity with navigating across BCG's geographical structures, especially within EMESA, and experience working with various functions and with people at all organizational levels by setting up positive, productive, and lasting working relationships.
  • Empathy and inspiration in the leadership with experience in DEI, especially in the consulting team environment, but with a broader understanding of the needs of all ONE BCG groups.
  • Highest level of integrity.
