AVIAGE SYSTEMS is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for defining, architecting, and developing flight control computer products that meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and practical expertise in flight control computer products and flight control systems development. You will work closely with customers and partners to identify new product opportunities and define cost-effective solutions to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of technical solutions for flight control computer products
- Work with product managers and cross-functional teams to define product and technology roadmaps, strategies, and proposals
- Define and implement products to meet technical requirements, scheduling, and project objectives
- Ensure proper technical data and substantiation generated from assigned projects and tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Ability to independently achieve results in a cross-functional environment
- Ability to engage and build positive relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
Requirements:
- Master's degree or above in control science and engineering and automation
- Minimum of 8 years' engineering experience in developing flight control computer products or system design/development
- Familiarity with airworthiness regulations and industry standards for flight control systems
- Experience with safety-critical design of flight control systems or products
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to guide and influence others
Desired Characteristics:
- Extensive background in aerospace electronics/avionics engineering and familiarity with industry standards: ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178B/C, DO-254, and DO-160G
- Work experience with related aircraft systems such as IMA, FMS, CNS, ADIRS, etc. and knowledge of flight operations
- Experience with digital interfaces such as RS485/422, IIC, SPI, A429, A664, A825, etc.
