Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cryogenic Engineer to join our team at Airbus UpNext. As a Cryogenic Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing advanced superconducting and cryogenic powertrain systems for high-power electric propulsion applications in the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Cryogenic Cooling Systems for electric propulsion applications
- Lead the development process and industrial roadmap for Cryogenic Cooling Systems
- Select and manage industrial partners and suppliers for Cryogenic Cooling Systems
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure good integrability of Cryogenic Cooling Systems into the overall powertrain
Requirements:
- MSc or PhD in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Deep knowledge of Cryogenic and Vacuum Technologies
- At least 5 years of experience in Cryogenic System development, from design to laboratory testing, preferably in aeronautic applications
- Strong skills in multiphysics modeling (electrical, mechanical, thermal, CFD)
- Hands-on experience in prototyping and manufacturing Cryogenic system components
- Demonstrated track record of end-to-end project execution
- Well-built professional network within the domain of expertise
- Autonomy, adaptability, availability, accountability, team-player attitude, analytical mindset, and strong synthesis capacity
