Job Description

The Climate Parliament is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Events Coordinator to support the implementation of a new project - Parliamentarians for Climate Finance - in 15 African countries. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all logistics for 30 events across an 18-24 month project duration, including travel, visa support, venues, tech support, and meals. The Events Coordinator will also contribute to the Climate Parliament website and social media, and handle administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with in-country staff to coordinate event logistics
  • Manage travel, visa support, venues, tech support, and meals for events
  • Contribute to the Climate Parliament website and social media
  • Handle administrative tasks

Requirements:

  • Relevant university degree
  • Good knowledge of event logistics
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and French
  • Detail oriented
  • At least several years of relevant experience
  • Organized and self-motivated, able to work without day-to-day supervision
  • Right to live and work in the UK, France, or India
  • Ability to work well in a team

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Two plus years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of climate finance
  • Knowledge of renewable energy or climate science
  • Knowledge of green technologies
  • Experience in development work, especially in Africa
  • Good IT skills
  • Experience with social media platforms
  • Knowledge of economic or energy modelling
  • Fluency in French, Spanish, or Portuguese
  • Fund-raising experience
