Nalco Water, a world leader in industrial and process water treatment, is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer Area Manager to join our Emerging Markets group in mainland France and Central Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for prospecting and providing technical assistance to a portfolio of industrial clients mainly in the agri-food sector (breweries, cane sugar mills, palm oil mills, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide customers and prospects with a value-added service through technical expertise and technical-economic assessments.
- Achieve the objectives and turnover set.
- Develop turnover among existing customers and prospects.
- Lead and train a local team of Application Engineers.
The position is based in France, with frequent travel to Central African countries (approximately 50% of the time).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Chemical engineer, chemical engineering or agri-food industries, with initial experience of 3 to 5 years in a technical sales position and ideally team manager;
- Knowledge, Experience and skills desired
- Sensitivity and cultural knowledge of Africa would be highly appreciated.
- Mastery of the French language required.
- Field spirit, dynamism, motivation, practical sense, pragmatism, organization, autonomy.
- Relational qualities, taste for contact, ability to communicate with operating executives, technical managers, process departments, etc.
- Availability, rigor, open-mindedness, team spirit and spirit of initiative.
- Knowledge of office tools (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
- Good level of English
