About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our Finance & Strategy Analytics team at Back Market. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and optimization through data-driven insights and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and model complex business problems to inform strategic decisions and drive business growth
  • Develop and maintain advanced analytics and data science capabilities to support business objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions
  • Provide regular intelligence and forward guidance to senior leadership on business performance and trends
  • Advance our understanding and prediction of customer and seller Lifetime Value (LTV)
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and methodologies in forecasting and experimentation
  • Lead complex cross-functional initiatives and drive business strategy through data-driven insights
Requirements
  • 5-8+ years of relevant industry experience working in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research)
  • Deep knowledge in forecasting, statistics, causal inference, and experimentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working with large datasets and developing advanced analytics and data science capabilities
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, and/or R
  • Experience in digital marketplaces and/or e-commerce is a plus
