We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our team at SuperGrid Institute. As a Research Engineer, you will be responsible for participating in the technical improvement of our real-time simulation laboratory, especially concerning the rapid prototyping and HIL testing of industrial relays and controllers.
Main Responsibilities:- Develop and validate DC Grid controls.
- Coordinate internal and external activities to implement the specified HIL setups.
- Interact with customers from the pre-sale phase to the delivery.
- Develop and maintain a control room / SCADA interface for demonstration purposes.
- Create and maintain a shared competence within the Architecture and System program around communication and telecommunication techniques towards their application to HVDC grid automation, protection, and control.
- Participate in the structuration of the technical and commercial offer when appropriate.
- Organize demonstration visits, publish technical papers, and participate in conferences and events.
We are looking for an Engineer or PhD specializing in Electrical engineering with 3 to 5 years of experience in modelling and simulation of electrical systems (high voltage).
- Experience in modelling and simulation of electrical systems with software such as PSCAD, EMTP and/or HYPERSIM.
- Knowledge of power electronics and controls.
- Familiarity with HVDC switching and breaking equipment, fault current limiting technologies.
- Understanding of communication for electrical substation automation (IEC 61850 standard).
- Programming skills in C/C++ and Python (a plus).
- Good command of English.
- Teamwork.
- Organizational skills.
