Description of the position / mission
We are seeking a highly motivated bioinformatician apprentice to join our team at Plantik Biosciences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bioinformatics and a passion for data analysis.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy novel bioinformatics solutions on our Cloud services
- Provide assistance to a variety of routine bioinformatics tasks, including gene identification, gene model refinement, expression analysis, and automation
- Remain up to date on relevant technologies and bioinformatics software through literature and professional meetings
Requirements:
- M1 student in bioinformatics/Genomics
- Knowledge and experience in bioinformatics analysis, NGS data, and transcriptomics
- Basic competency in Python, SQL (any flavour), genome browsers (IGV, UCSC), Galaxy, UNIX, and R
- Fluency in English
