Position: HVAC Engineer
Location: France / Paris
Duration: 12 Months Renewable
Status: Resident
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of HVAC engineering solutions for large onshore plants and LNG projects, ensuring they meet the required standards and specifications.
- Represent the company's technical authority for HVAC discipline, providing expertise and guidance to project teams.
- Prepare and suggest technical content for essential studies to initiate EPC contractor action, ensuring conformity with state-of-the-art LNG plant design.
- Supervise all subcontracted studies and provide support to other packages, working closely with Head Quarters specialists.
- Ensure HVAC design choices take into account constructability, operability, and flexibility of the facilities.
- Propose recommendations on technical deviation requests and maintain updated documentation related to the HVAC discipline.
- Participate in studies required by third parties as needed.
- Communicate and apply the H3SE policies of the company, ensuring engineering is developed accordingly.
- Ensure the correct implementation of company rules and specifications, project specifications, relevant international standards, and applicable regulations.
- Lead the review of the contractor's key deliverables, including HVAC LLI PO review and consolidate comments from other engineering disciplines and operations.
- Provide technical assistance to the project for any technical audits required by banks, insurance companies, or the Board of Directors.
- Participate in the development of Inspection and Tests Plans (ITP) and FAT preparation and execution, attending meetings and FATs with vendors as necessary.
- Ensure HVAC equipment is commissioned and started up as per detailed engineering documentation and vendor recommendations, providing support and searching for vendor assistance if needed.
- Ensure the quality and completeness of HVAC designs/packages final documentation, ensuring compliance with project scope of work, specifications, and procedures.
- Report potential impact on overall project strategy, planning, and target achievement.
- Promote workshops with HQ specialists and contractor specialists to ensure company concepts and comments are well understood and quickly integrated into technical documents.
- Guide EPC contractor main design selection in a fit-for-purpose approach to reach an optimized design, promoting and following up on deviation requests to company requirements.
- Ensure efficient review of applicable frames of reference.
- Participate actively in proper interface management with Process, Safety, Rotating, Electrical studies carried out during the EPSCC phase.
- Review and comment on key technical documents of interfacing disciplines, such as Process, Safety, Electrical, rotating machines, and project procedures as required.
- Participate in Project HAZID, PR.
- Organize weekly meetings with counterpart disciplines and report highlights to management, proposing mitigation measures when deemed necessary.
- Participate in internal engineering weekly meetings.
- Provide technical inputs to contractual discussions with EPC contractors.
- Contribute to the development of the digital plant through centric data management when applicable.
- Call for/participate in interfaces coordination activities and ensure synergies are developed between different contractors.
- Participate in Vendors and particularly for LLIs technical evaluation.
- Ensure design validity and coherence with other disciplines and throughout the LNG facilities.
- Gain knowledge of Omani norms and practices and use them in the project when relevant.
- Assist commissioning, start-up, and Operation teams when required, transferring project knowledge to operations.
- Prepare REX and Lessons Learnt throughout the EPC.
- Contribute to personnel skills improvement and encourage knowledge transfer.Qualifications
- Diploma: Chartered HVAC Engineer with proven experience (> 10 years) in large onshore plants and LNG plants detailed design.
- Professional experience: several years of proven experience in EPSCC stage of LNG projects.
- Good teamwork.
- Knowledge of project development in Oman and methods used to submit dossier to state expertise, permitting process, technical approval, Omani norms and standards, are all either an advantage or to progressively acknowledge and incorporate.
- Fluent in English.
