About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Trade Advisor to join our team at the British Embassy in Paris. As a key member of the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) team, you will play a crucial role in driving UK economic growth by securing French investment, tackling market access barriers, growing UK exports, and making the UK a brand of choice in France.
Key Responsibilities
- Support high potential British exporters access and win business in France by leading a team of Trade Advisors and providing practical support to UK companies.
- Manage enquiries from UK exporters on market potential and market representation, communicating high value opportunities and identifying potential market access barriers.
- Expand networks of commercial and governmental partners in France, working collaboratively with colleagues across DBT France and the wider Embassy.
- Line manage two Trade Advisors, setting objectives and strategic direction, and coaching and developing the team to provide high quality support to UK exporters.
Requirements
- Proven experience in international trade, commercial development, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience of line managing a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the French market and ability to identify opportunities for UK exporters.
