PhD Researcher: Recycling and Valorization of Composites

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at Arkema, focusing on recycling and valorization of thermoplastic composite materials. This exciting project involves exploring pyrolysis as a chemical recycling method for Elium composites, comparing different types of pyrolysis furnaces, and identifying strategies to improve monomer recovery and recycled material quality.
Key Responsibilities- Acquire leading-edge knowledge of recycled composites and their behavior
- Develop technical skills in polymer chemistry, thermal degradation, and economic and environmental impact assessment
- Participate in training programs, including communication, career management, and business skills
- Write scientific papers for publication in top-level journals
- Present research in project meetings, international conferences, and outreach events
A good candidate should be an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with a strong background in polymer and macromolecular chemistry, polymer science and technology, engineering, or environmental studies. They should have excellent academic qualifications, technical skills, and communication abilities.
What We OfferThis post is supported by an allowance provided by the European Commission. The EU Researcher Allowances will be used to cover both the employee's and employer's mandatory charges. The fellow will be assigned full-time with a PhD scholarship, including full social security.
Salary InformationThe estimated annual salary for this position is around €34,000 - €40,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
