You will be part of the Group Underwriting Office, specifically within the Short Tail Underwriting Team.
Role Overview:
The P&C business is fundamental to AXA Group, operating in over 20 territories with diverse operating models and market shares. The Group Underwriting Office is tasked with:
- Steering and managing sustainable and profitable growth in AXA's P&C activities globally, promoting excellence in risk management and technical areas. This includes underwriting governance, product approval processes, and portfolio management, necessitating close collaboration with claims management, reserving, catastrophe modeling, and reinsurance.
- Structuring a robust risk and control framework, including exposure monitoring and adherence to risk appetite.
- Supporting underwriting initiatives that leverage new technologies and artificial intelligence in the underwriting process.
- Promoting innovative insurance solutions that facilitate construction adaptation to climate change.
Key Responsibilities:
As a P&C Commercial Underwriting Specialist focusing on Construction and Delegated Underwriting Authorities (DUA), your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing Construction/Engineering products such as Construction All Risks (CAR) and Erection All Risks (EAR), including Decennial Liability in France.
- Managing DUA underwriting, which involves AXA's participation in schemes or products with delegated underwriting authority to third parties.
You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including the Group Sustainability Team, Group Risk Management, and all P&C entities, ensuring alignment with our underwriting guidelines.
Challenges and Requirements:
The role demands technical expertise in P&C underwriting to effectively identify, evaluate, and manage risks associated with natural events. Key qualifications include:
- A solid understanding of insurance and reinsurance business aspects, particularly the regulatory and legal nuances of P&C activities.
- Actuarial skills to assess key metrics related to risks.
- Strong communication skills to engage with multicultural teams and senior management.
- Proven ability to lead underwriting reviews and share knowledge across departments.
- Autonomy and flexibility to adapt to changing workloads and team dynamics.
