We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at the Centre de Recherche en Neurosciences de Lyon - CRNL. The successful candidate will work on a project investigating the interplay between epilepsy-related respiratory dysfunction and arousal regulation.
The project will be conducted in two rodent models of epilepsy: Scn1aRH/+ mice and rat model of temporal lobe epilepsy. The researcher will use complementary techniques, including long-term cardio-respiratory recordings combined with EEG, in vivo multiunit recordings, and molecular neurobiology.
The PhD researcher will be part of the Translational Group in Epilepsy Research (TIGER) and will work under the supervision of Pr Sylvain RHEIMS. The project is funded by the ERANET-NEURON and ERC.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in neuroscience and a keen interest in epilepsy research. The PhD researcher will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the writing of scientific papers.
