Your Role
The Procurement Category Manager will be tasked with defining and executing procurement strategies within a strategic category.
- Formulates and executes a comprehensive global sourcing strategy across diverse categories to ensure effective portfolio management and expenditure oversight.
- Cultivates business relationships at various levels within key supplier accounts to enhance performance, quality, productivity, and service standards.
- Skillfully negotiates key commercial and supply agreements for designated raw materials to align with Symrise's business objectives. Identifies and secures global supply contracts as necessary.
- Discovers, develops, and implements both global and regional sourcing strategies aimed at cost reduction, risk mitigation, and supply security enhancement.
- Articulates and disseminates sourcing strategies for approved alternative suppliers to maximize value at both regional and global scales.
- Engages a global network to ensure regional strategy execution and local implementation.
- Effectively communicates strategies, outcomes, and performance metrics to leadership teams as required.
- Remains informed about industry trends relevant to assigned categories, providing insights and recommendations to business units to support margin and revenue growth.
- Proactively escalates and collaborates with appropriate supplier business leaders to address supply disruptions and constraints.
- Develops, aligns, and drives strategic initiatives to enhance procurement processes, tools, and efficiencies.
- Establishes procurement infrastructure in collaboration with functions and supply chain to ensure availability at the required quality and cost levels.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemistry, Food Engineering, etc.) or Business.
- 5-8 years of international procurement experience.
- Proficiency in English is mandatory; knowledge of French and/or German is a plus.
- Willingness to travel (30%).
