Job DescriptionThe Biophysics R&D team at TreeFrog Therapeutics is comprised of four experts with a biology background, working closely with Physic and Technology R&D colleagues. As a Biophysics Research and Development Scientist, you will investigate the interactions between cells and encapsulation technology/capsule production.
With a strong experimental component, your primary responsibility will be to conduct research and experiments in 3D cell biology at the interface with physics/technology. You will work closely with physicists from the technology team to understand the effects of technology on cells.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Biophysics Research and Development Scientist, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting R&D subprojects in 3D cell biology, including planning, organizing, and executing experiments to deliver project objectives on time.
- Designing experimental plans based on relevant information from literature and TreeFrog's historical data.
- Implementing and improving relevant methods for 3D object characterization, such as imaging.
- Executing lab work, collecting data, and analyzing results with the support of the Biophysics and Physics & Techno team members.
- Presenting results and project progress during R&D and team meetings, and ensuring the reporting of project outcomes.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Master of Science in biology, ideally completed with a PhD in experimental biology.
- At least 3 years' experience in experimental science, with a strong background in mammalian cell culture.
- Expertise in cell culture, ideally in 3D, and characterization (organoids/spheroids).
- Familiarity with at least one of the following fields: biophysics, cell encapsulation, bioprinting, organ-on-a-chip, or microfluidics systems.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
