About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Animator to join our team at Ubisoft, working on the Assassin's Creed Shadows project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the animation team to design, create, and maintain efficient animation pipelines.
  • Integrate, develop, and update state machines and blend trees (blueprints) to enhance animation performance.
  • Provide technical support for the tools, engine, and animation teams to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Interact and collaborate with various teams (Art, Design, Code) to meet production schedule and development needs.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, implementing efficient solutions to improve animation systems.
  • Document technical processes and share knowledge with the team to ensure consistency and best practices.
  • Work with other departments to optimize animation systems, balancing technical constraints with creative goals.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background with a passion for animation and creative problem-solving.
  • Experience with State Machines/Blueprints or similar animation systems (Unreal, Unity, or proprietary).
  • Proficiency in 3D software, with MotionBuilder being a plus.
  • Ability to write clear, concise technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English.
  • Adaptability, approachability, and a positive attitude in the workplace.
  • Familiarity with geometric and numerical algorithms.
  • Strong knowledge of Python and C# (ability to read and understand source code).
  • Passion for videogame development.

Bonus Requirements

  • Knowledge of C++.
  • Ability to create custom tools and scripts to enhance animation team productivity and efficiency.
