Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Engineering Projects to lead our engineering projects and teams. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering, project management, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee multiple concurrent engineering projects and processes.
  2. Influence the development and execution of functional strategy and operational direction.
  3. Manage large teams of managers and senior professionals.
  4. Review and approve project proposals and process enhancements or changes.
  5. Responsible for the implementation and execution of projects, ensuring they are on-time and within budget.
  6. Provide project status reports for senior management.
  7. Manage and monitor annual project budget.
  8. Participate in planning sessions for capital expense, operational improvements, and strategic growth.
  9. Develop and implement policies and procedures to achieve organizational goals.
  10. Stay current on engineering trends in developing technologies and practices.
Requirements:
  1. Typically possesses Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 12+ years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Possesses thorough knowledge of engineering, including industrial instrumentation, electrical systems, manufacturing processes, chemical concepts, and lean manufacturing concepts.
  2. Demonstrates excellent leadership and managerial skills.
  3. Possesses excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication, computer, planning, and project management skills.
  4. Possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Strong technical acumen and understanding of financial concepts (cost analysis, budgets).
  6. Demonstrates professionalism, diplomacy, and the ability to bring about agreement between colleagues in sensitive situations while maintaining positive relationships.
  7. Proficiency in relevant Engineering software (e.g. CAD).
  8. PMP, CAPM, or comparable project management certification desired.
