Overview:
In the role of HSE Lead for Construction, you will collaborate closely with the HSE manager in France to enforce the HSE policy across various construction initiatives. Your primary objective will be to mitigate risks and elevate construction operations to meet the highest HSE standards. You will oversee external HSE Coordinators to ensure comprehensive coverage of all project activities and provide support to teams throughout the construction phases. Promoting continuous improvement and enhancing HSE awareness within the construction sector will be fundamental aspects of your role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion Vestas France's HSE Policy aimed at achieving zero accidents in construction activities
- Assist in fostering a safe working atmosphere for Vestas Construction in France
- Enhance HSE awareness throughout all stages of construction
- Achieve HSE objectives and targets within your area of responsibility
- Ensure adherence to legal and corporate standards
- Engage with clients regarding HSE issues
- Oversee the assignment of HSE coordinators to various projects
- Maintain high HSE performance across construction initiatives
- Collaborate with contractors to meet Vestas standards
- Formulate and execute the HSE action plan for France Construction
- Articulate the HSE value proposition to clients and stakeholders
- Assess and enhance HSE practices on-site
- Foster engagement among internal leadership
- Participate in knowledge sharing within the organization
- Be present on construction sites at least 40% of the time
- Master's degree in HSE or a related discipline is preferred
- Over 10 years of experience in comparable environments
- Proficiency in both French and English; Spanish is a plus
- Experience in an international context
- Strong understanding of relevant legal requirements
- Experience in an ISO-certified environment is advantageous
- Capability to lead a remote team effectively
- Strong focus on field operations
- Excellent communication skills across all levels
- Dynamic and engaging leadership style
