Security Software Evaluation Engineer

Overview: At SERMA SAFETY & SECURITY, our dedicated Security Laboratory specializes in providing comprehensive information security evaluation and expert services. Our primary objective is to uncover and address security vulnerabilities in the products or systems entrusted to us by our clients. As certified experts recognized by the ANSSI (National Cybersecurity Agency of France), our skilled team engages with a diverse array of products across multiple sectors, including smart cards, credit cards, electronic identity solutions, encryption technologies, secure storage devices, mobile communications, automotive systems, and aerospace applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the technical team in assessing the security of embedded code across various products and contribute to research and development initiatives in this domain, including tool creation and the development of innovative attack methodologies.
Candidate Profile:
- A degree in Computer Engineering, coupled with a strong enthusiasm for tackling technical challenges.
- A minimum of two years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Software protection techniques and tools (including compilers, anti-reverse engineering strategies, code de-obfuscation, and watermarking).
- Software analysis and vulnerability research (focusing on assembly language, reverse engineering, and disassembly).
- Computer networking and associated protocols (both IPv4 and IPv6) or fixed and mobile telecommunications networks (such as UMTS, NGN, IMS) or wireless communication systems. Proficiency in English is essential.
- Strong programming skills in various languages (including C, assembly, and Java Card) along with a solid understanding of microprocessor architecture.
- Experience with EMV banking standards and related specifications is advantageous.
