Job Title: Technical Solution Architect

Business Environment: Amadeus is a business incubation vehicle helping to materialize the long-term vision and turn new and uncertain concepts into tangible value for the industry. We explore, de-risk, and incubate new solutions and capabilities, serving the long-term growth strategies of the Amadeus business units. Our team works closely with various departments, including Hospitality, Travel Unit, Technology Units, and Corporate Strategy. Our goal is to launch constant waves of business opportunities, which is why we are named Nexwave, a simplified version of 'next wave'.

As a Technical Solution Architect, you will act as a software development engineer with additional responsibilities. You will define, drive, and maintain software architecture with respect to customer requirements and company objectives for a given system or subsystem.

Your Main Responsibilities:

Common Accountabilities:

  • Proficient in technical knowledge to ensure the team performs at a high level.
  • Responsible for software development engineer activities, including user requirements definition, technical solution design, coding, testing, and software solutions debugging.
  • Propose, drive, and lead in Architecture & Design Review Boards, design and develop modules & artifacts for Amadeus products platform components in concert with other architects and tech leads in the team.
  • Assess complex problems with broad impact on the activity, improve processes, recommend solutions, and risk mitigation plans. Able to communicate complex information.
  • Work with a high level of autonomy, based on management directions. Lead projects and contribute to broad cross-functional projects.
  • Challenging status quo by investigating ideas and potential growth drivers for Amadeus. Leveraging design thinking and lean processes to methodically define and validate value propositions.
  • Handover the solution, when validated, to the R&D teams when entering the development phase.

Specific Accountabilities:

Technical Expertise:

  • Responsible for software architecture throughout the lifecycle development, taking into consideration system constraints and enterprise architecture strategic directions.
  • Design solutions at the platform or application level, coordinating with all necessary teams to reach an agreement, ensuring solution consistency across projects and applications, ensuring all gaps are identified, and tracking dependencies.
  • Lead studies analyze cross-functional requirements and other cross-organization, cross-functional solutions by interacting with all stakeholders, including architects, technical and functional experts, and delivery teams.
  • Contribute to breaking vision down into achievable actions while keeping global consistency and feasibility over areas.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Interact with Product Managers or directly with customers to ensure a full understanding of the business needs and customer constraints. Combine focus on customer expectations and integration of Amadeus strategy for any proposal.
  • Support the Product Management community product vision by ensuring that all customers can use solution designs and add value to the product.
  • Communicate progress on solutions and agreements at any stage of the mission within the core team.
  • Contribute to the architect community, educate, study options, and recommend evolutions.
  • Document and present solution recommendations to all stakeholders, with the ability to explain complex technical information in simple ways to a diverse audience.

Participate in Architecture Transversal Activities:

  • Our Cloud Native application foundations/micro-service based architecture.
  • Low/No-Code capabilities.
  • Event Driven Architecture, Stream Processing & asynchronous designs.
  • Open Data, Data Mesh & Data Driven architecture transformation.
  • Data Analytics, ML/AI/GenAI platform for Amadeus.
  • External & Internal APIs strategy.
  • Graphical user interface technical foundations & its integration with our back-end environment.
  • Integration capabilities with external systems or platforms.
  • Open Platforms strategy, enabling our customers or partners to develop new features in our system by themselves.
