Business Context:
The Search, Shopping & Pricing (SSP) product engineering division is integral to the core Travel Channels, Airline IT sector, and Travel Intelligence initiatives.

SSP oversees the Search, Shopping, and Pricing solutions, empowering users to discover and evaluate travel options derived from both full-service and low-cost airlines. SSP plays a pivotal role in numerous strategic programs that aim to adopt industry standards and make them readily accessible to travel professionals, alongside our global distribution system content.

Within this framework, the Lead Solutions Architect is crucial in steering pre-delivery activities (studies) with an emphasis on intricate and cross-functional solution analysis to develop high-caliber solutions for the end-to-end process (from search to post-sales).

Key Responsibilities

General Responsibilities:

  • Possess advanced technical expertise to ensure the team operates at peak performance.
  • Acknowledged as a leader in the field and may formally mentor Specialists/Senior Specialists.
  • Comprehends how primary business drivers may influence their area of responsibility.
  • Capable of evaluating complex issues with widespread implications, enhancing processes, proposing solutions, and developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Proficient in conveying intricate information.
  • Operates with a significant degree of independence, guided by management directives.
  • Acts as the SSP solutions architect representative both internally and externally (high visibility and involvement in enterprise-level solution design).

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to one of the most critical strategic programs by architecting top-tier travel platform solutions.
  • Assess needs and requirements from clients (airlines & travel agencies) implementing/adopting industry standards.
  • Recommend functional/technical solutions with justifications for complex cross-organizational, cross-functional solutions in collaboration with R&D teams.
  • Identify areas of commonality and enhance departmental efficiency by creating coherent, reusable solution frameworks.
  • Responsible for regularly updating stakeholders on the status of engagements at any phase.
  • Provide support and expertise to Product, Sales, and Account teams in functional and technical recommendations.
  • Document and present solution proposals to large audiences including R&D senior management, Experts, Architects, R&D delivery teams, Clients, Product Managers, and Account managers.
  • Transition solutions to delivery teams.
  • Assist in new business opportunity assessments concerning complex solutions.
  • Propose methods to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the SAFe organization as a shared service team member.
  • Transfer the validated solution to SAFE organizations when entering the development phase.

Develop, Maintain, and Share Solution Analysis and Expertise:

  • Establish and implement the communication/training strategy within the team.
  • Create and deliver training materials: tutorials, user manuals, videos for internal team education.
  • Define, develop, and facilitate communication between commercial and R&D organizations regarding complex solutions or escalations.

Measure and Enhance:

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the overall functional/technical solution determination processes and propose and implement enhancements.
