Emergency Rehabilitation Manager

Handicap International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Emergency Physical and Functional Rehabilitation Manager. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities and vulnerable populations.
Job Summary:The Emergency Physical and Functional Rehabilitation Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating the deployment of physical and functional rehabilitation operations in emergency situations. This includes participating in the initial diagnosis of emergency response operations, contributing to the definition of the strategy and methodology, and analyzing the results to define the immediate response strategy.
Key Responsibilities:- Participate in the initial diagnosis of emergency response operations and contribute to the definition of the strategy and methodology.
- Lead and coordinate the deployment of physical and functional rehabilitation operations in emergency situations.
- Analyze the results of needs assessments and define the immediate response strategy.
- Contribute to the development of project proposals and participate in the development and launch of the programme.
- Define the operational, technical, budgetary, and logistical framework for emergency physical and functional rehabilitation interventions.
- Support the implementation of integrated approaches through close collaboration and coordination with MHPSS and livelihoods managers.
- Develop project management, monitoring, and evaluation tools and monitor their implementation.
- Manage the project team, including defining the project organization chart and job descriptions, recruiting team members, and monitoring team performance.
- Monitor the quality of actions carried out and identify partners' capacities and capacity-building needs.
- Participate in the drafting of internal and external reports and produce regular situation and activity reports.
- At least three years' experience in physical and functional rehabilitation in an emergency setting.
- Current personal situation allowing for deployment within 72 hours.
- Training in physiotherapy or occupational therapy and additional training in project management and development/humanitarian operations.
- Good knowledge of emergency donor regulations and processes.
- Fluent in English and French, with Spanish or Arabic a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- 7-month contract, starting ideally on October 15, 2024.
