Job Title: Executive Pastry Chef
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Executive Pastry Chef to join our team at Mövenpick Resort Phan Thiet. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing the pastry section of our kitchen and supervising the work of junior pastry chefs and bakers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chef de Partie Pastry in managing the pastry section of the resort's kitchen and supervising the work of junior pastry chefs, bakers, and other support staff.
- Ensure that all pastry items are prepared and presented to the highest standards of taste, quality, and consistency.
- Help in the development and implementation of new pastry concepts, recipes, and menu items in collaboration with the Chef de Partie Pastry and other kitchen staff.
- Assist in ordering, receiving, and coordinating the use of all necessary ingredients, utensils, and equipment required for pastry preparation.
- Ensure that all food safety and hygienic practices are strictly followed in the pastry section of the kitchen.
- Maintain accurate records of pastry stock levels, food wastage, and other relevant data.
- Actively participate in the training and development of junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff.
Requirements:
- A diploma or degree in culinary arts, patisserie, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience working in a reputable restaurant or hotel pastry section.
- Technical knowledge of pastry preparation techniques, flavor profiles, and kitchen equipment.
- Some experience in developing and implementing pastry concepts, recipes, and menu items.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
