Overview of Your Role
The Regional Manager for Steam Turbine Projects will play a pivotal role within the Western Europe Sales division, focusing on the technical sales and acquisition of orders for intricate modifications and enhancements of steam turbines and generators utilized by our clientele in France, Belgium, and The Netherlands.
Collaborating closely with the West Europe sales team and the Product Competence Centers, the manager will oversee the preparation of proposals, define project strategies, integrate diverse product line offerings, and conduct negotiations in partnership with the Regional Sales Team and Product Line technical experts.
By understanding customer requirements, the manager will pinpoint potential equipment upgrades, craft tailored proposals, and lead customer negotiations while ensuring adherence to internal approval processes and margin expectations.
Your Impact
- You will manage the project development and quotation process from initial discovery to project handover to the execution team.
- To achieve this, you will:
o Collaborate with the Regional Sales Team to identify, assess, develop, and follow up on advanced business projects related to Steam Turbines and Generators Services.
o Formulate and implement an Annual Operating Plan to meet your individual targets, planning and forecasting order volumes based on proactive opportunity development within your designated territory.
o Coordinate with regional steam turbine product line technical resources to pursue advanced business opportunities in your area.
o Investigate and assess specific advanced business opportunities related to the client’s product and service portfolio, qualifying opportunities to determine bid strategies and solutions.
o Maintain the sales funnel by documenting the lifecycle of advanced business opportunities promptly, ensuring all opportunities are accurately entered into the CRM system, forecasted, and tracked to closure.
o Prepare, coordinate, and conduct project and proposal negotiations in collaboration with product line and regional resources, identifying market price levels and applying or recommending discounts as necessary in line with company policies.
o Oversee the preparation and tracking of proposals to support identified opportunities, regional cost modeling, and guarantees, integrating multiple product line offerings and localized content.
o Assist customers directly with cost/benefit analyses and calculations to highlight the specific advantages of utilizing Siemens Energy products.
o Employ Miller Heiman Strategic Selling Strategies in all sales activities.
o Provide insights into client needs, competitive intelligence, market drivers, and purchasing influences for the development of new product and service offerings.
o Initiate the management approval process for advanced business in accordance with global policies.
o Support departmental initiatives and opportunities as required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a combination of Business and Engineering.
- Knowledge and experience in rotating equipment.
- Proficient command of English, both written and spoken; proficiency in French is preferred, with Dutch and/or German being advantageous.
- Comprehensive commercial and contractual understanding to effectively engage with customers, management, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking, decision-making abilities, results-oriented mindset, and excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility, creativity, and an open-minded approach.
