Senior Environmental Health Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Health Specialist to join our team at Amazon France Transport SAS. As a key member of our Workplace Health and Safety team, you will play a crucial role in driving improvements on-site and at a regional level.
Your primary responsibility will be to manage health and safety standards while improving functionality and efficiency. You will also manage your team and help them implement changes in response to employee feedback or seize opportunities to continuously make process improvements.
This is an extremely varied role based at one of our sites, allowing you to directly contribute to many aspects of our safety culture. You will work closely with managers, associates, and local governments across our sites, ensuring we comply with Amazon's policies and legal regulations, and that our workplaces are safe.
Key Responsibilities- Manage health and safety standards while improving functionality and efficiency
- Manage your team and help them implement changes in response to employee feedback or seize opportunities to continuously make process improvements
- Work closely with managers, associates, and local governments across our sites to ensure compliance with Amazon's policies and legal regulations
- Drive programmes to improve technical equipment specifications and designs within Amazon
- Provide guidance and arrangements for health and safety projects and policies
- Education to a degree level in a health and safety-related subject or an engineering degree with modules in Environment, Health and Safety legislation
- Professional training in a technical profession, preferably mechatronics or electrics
- Relevant experience managing projects
- Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and French
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Our Workplace Health and Safety team plays a crucial role in keeping our people mentally and physically well at work. We work with managers, associates, and local governments across our sites, making sure we're complying with Amazon's policies and legal regulations, and that our workplaces are safe.
There is a range of opportunities within the team, from Health and Safety Technicians to Programme Managers. No matter what your role is, you'll play a part in developing, implementing, and upholding our high safety and wellbeing standards.
You could work on a variety of projects alongside colleagues from across the business, ranging from equipment and process inspections to assessing processes, building, and equipment design.
Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles 'last mile' delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilise creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers.
Our goal is to make our customers' delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants.
