Role OverviewAs a Climate Control Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing sophisticated HVAC systems that ensure precise climate regulation within our BioPods and BioFarming solutions. This position requires a strong focus on product development, emphasizing accuracy in psychometric control, temperature, humidity, and air quality management.
Your innovative mindset and unwavering commitment to excellence will be essential in analyzing, creating, and maintaining HVAC systems across our product line. We are looking for a proactive and organized professional to assess requirements, design cooling, piping, and ductwork systems, manage projects, and collaborate with various teams to deliver optimal HVAC solutions. A deep understanding of climate monitoring and controlled environments is vital for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop precision climate control HVAC systems for specialized applications.
- Select suitable HVAC equipment and technologies to fulfill specific climate control needs.
- Create comprehensive P&ID diagrams, 3D HVAC models, and specifications for installations based on initial product criteria.
- Apply principles of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer to engineer efficient systems.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to design and integrate HVAC systems and piping layouts.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, technicians, and other engineering teams for seamless project execution.
- Conduct testing and validation of systems to guarantee optimal performance and reliability.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for HVAC-related challenges in controlled environments.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides.
- Ensure compliance of all HVAC systems with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements and best practices in sustainable HVAC technology and precision climate control.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification (e.g., PE, LEED, or HVAC-specific certifications) is advantageous.
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC engineering with a focus on precision climate control.
- Demonstrated experience in Controlled-Environment Agriculture, Clean Rooms, Laboratories, or Data Centers.
- Strong grasp of psychometrics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer principles.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, ISO).
- Versatile approach with the ability to transition between design and hands-on tasks.
- Proven experience in designing high-quality HVAC systems for reliable applications.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous, and demanding environment.
