About the Role
Serco is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior System Engineering Specialist to join our team in Strasbourg Office.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide IT support, design, and troubleshooting for large Server, SAN farms, and complex platforms.
- Configure and troubleshoot Virtual environments: VMware vSphere, vSAN, Horizon.
- Manage Server management, Operating System (OS) knowledge (UNIX, Linux, Windows).
- Design, implement, and administer backup and restore on solutions like VEEAM and StoreOnce.
- Administer servers, bladesystems, and composable infrastructure.
- Administer Storage systems on traditional SAN, CEPH, and VSAN.
- Manage OCP platform in DEVOPS mode with related supporting systems like Red Hat Service Mesh, GitHub, Helm, GitOps, Ansible Automation Platform, Kafka.
- Develop, execute, and troubleshoot Ansible and Powershell scripts.
- Administer PKI and certificate administration.
- Administer monitoring systems like Nagios, Splunk.
- Administer Oracle infrastructure, namely EXADATA and ZDRLA.
- Administer mail servers and mail relays (postfix), anti-virus, and anti-spam.
- Centralize deployment of software and updates.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of relevant education (master or equivalent) after the secondary school.
- Minimum 9 years of relevant professional experience.
- Knowledge and experience with HW management, racking, cabling, replacement, FW upgrades.
- HW/SW inventory and configuration management.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with VMWare (vSphere, vSAN, Horizon).
- Knowledge and experience with managing Oracle HW.
- Knowledge and advanced experience in Redhat, Windows OS administration of large farms.
- Active Directory (AD) / LDAP and Keycloak Management.
- Network Attached Storage (NAS) and distributed file systems.
- Centralized IT security policy management.
- Knowledge and experience in administration of servers, bladesystems, and composable infrastructure.
- Knowledge and experience in administration of Backup & Storage systems (VEEAM, StoreOnce, vSAN, traditional SAN, and CEPH).
- Advanced script development and troubleshooting skills (Ansible, PowerShell).
- Experience in software compliance monitoring and enforcement.
- Advanced knowledge of OCP platform administration with supporting tools like Red Hat Service Mesh, GitHub, Helm, GitOps, Ansible Automation Platform, Kafka.
- Knowledge to support mail servers and mail relays (postfix), antivirus, and anti-spam.
- Basic knowledge on DB systems, MS SQL, Oracle, and Elastic search.
- Knowledge and experience with monitoring and observability systems (configuration, customization, further development), Prometheus, Grafana, ElasticSearch, Fluentd, Kibana, Jaeger, NAGIOS, and Splunk.
- Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in managing highly available environments and multiple site support.
- Familiar with ITIL/ITIL V3 processes, in particular incident, change, capacity, and configuration management.
