Position Overview:
ADM is looking for a dedicated laborer to join our team at the American River Transportation Company (ARTCo) wash dock facility. This role involves ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our barge fleet in St. Louis, MO.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform thorough cleaning of barge decks, hoppers, and covers.
- Maintain tank barges through effective cleaning practices.
- Utilize pumps and wash hoses for preparation and cleaning tasks, including crane operations.
- Conduct general upkeep and maintenance of crane barges, workshops, and surrounding areas.
- Employ hand signals to facilitate safe crane operations.
- Support harbor boats, mechanics, and welders as needed.
- Execute additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
- Prior experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks under the guidance of supervisors.
- Crane operation experience is a plus but not essential.
- Basic reading and writing skills to manage various documentation.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities based on operational needs.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to work in diverse weather conditions.
- Commitment to promoting ADM's core values and safety standards.
- Proven history of safe work practices and a desire to enhance safety measures.
- Availability for extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Frequent heavy lifting required.
- Prolonged kneeling, bending, and climbing may be necessary.
- Comfortable working near large bodies of water, at varying heights, and in confined spaces.
