Job Title: SQL Database Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Database Engineer to join our team in London. As a key member of our Business Intelligence team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient database systems using MS SQL Server, Google BigQuery, or other structured/unstructured database solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement database systems to meet business requirements
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for reporting and data integration
  • Manage data warehouses, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement APIs to interface with databases and other applications
  • Perform data migration, transformation, and normalization between systems
  • Continuously identify areas for database performance improvement and proactively address bottlenecks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to enhance data management strategies
Requirements:
  • Experience as a SQL Database Engineer or similar role
  • Database expertise: proficiency in MS SQL Server and Google BigQuery or similar databases (both structured and unstructured data)
  • Experience with other database platforms such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or NoSQL
  • Strong familiarity with ETL processes, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure
  • API knowledge: experience with APIs and integration into database systems is a must
  • Data warehousing: strong experience in managing and maintaining data
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance regulations
  • Strong understanding of performance tuning and database optimization
