Optical Mechanical Engineer

HOUMAULT is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Optical Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in the development of cutting-edge opto-mechanical products for demanding applications. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and specialists to bring innovative solutions to life.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative optical fiber systems based on customer requirements, encompassing both product design and process optimization.
- Construct and assemble prototypes and pre-series models, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to specifications.
- Actively participate in feasibility studies, design reviews, and technical specification definition, contributing your expertise to the development process.
- Design and implement robust optical fiber assembly solutions, leveraging your knowledge of metrology, polishing, and welding techniques.
- Create comprehensive documentation, including specifications, validation plans, test reports, and assembly procedures, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Define rigorous test protocols and validation plans to ensure the performance and reliability of developed products.
- Conduct thorough testing and metrological measurements, analyzing results to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Develop and implement manufacturing tools or measurement benches, streamlining production processes and enhancing efficiency.
- Collaborate with production teams to facilitate product transfer and contribute to the successful industrialization of new products.
- Provide ongoing support to production operations, addressing technical challenges and ensuring smooth manufacturing workflows.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in fiber optics and opto-mechanics.
Your Qualifications:
We seek a highly qualified candidate with an Engineering degree specializing in Optics and/or Fiber Optics (Bac+5) and proven experience in the development of optical fiber systems for demanding applications.
You possess a strong foundation in:
- Fiber Optics, Opto-Mechanics, Material Physics, and Metrology
- Complex Optical Fiber Assemblies (metrology, polishing, welding)
Furthermore, you demonstrate:
- Autonomy, Rigor, and Dynamism
- Organizational Skills, Analytical Thinking, and a Synthetic Mindset
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills and the Ability to Collaborate Effectively in Teams
- Fluency in English
