UNESCO is seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to join its team as interns in the Office of the Director-General.

Job Summary:

The intern will assist the Advisor in preparing files on subjects related to the fields of competency of UNESCO, including education, science, culture, social and human sciences, and communication. The intern will gain knowledge of UNESCO's working environment and operations, as well as develop an understanding of UNESCO's interactions with other international institutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Advisor in preparing notes and opinions on administrative, political, and communications issues related to UNESCO's activities and fields of competency.
  • Conduct research and gather information to support the Advisor's work.
  • Help prepare elements for various interventions by the Director-General, including speeches, talking points, messages, editorials, articles, and forewords.
  • Revise correspondence to be signed by the Director-General.
Requirements:
  • Be at least 20 years old.
  • Be currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master's degree, PhD, or equivalent) or have recently graduated with a Master's degree or PhD (within the last 12 months).
  • Have an excellent command of English or French, and a working knowledge of the other language is an asset.
  • Have excellent computer skills and knowledge of office-related software.
  • Be able to work well in a team and adapt to an international working environment.
Benefits:

Interns are entitled to 2.5 days of leave per month during their internship. UNESCO does not remunerate interns.
