Job Title: Water Treatment Operations Technician

Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and the vital role of water conservation? Would you like to be part of a company dedicated to safeguarding natural resources, fostering respect and collaboration among its workforce, and striving to make a positive impact on our environment?

Veolia, a global leader operating across five continents, aims to spearhead ecological transformation.

Join the Veolia Water France team, where our employees collaborate daily with local communities and industries to ensure clean drinking water for a significant portion of the French population, manage wastewater treatment, generate renewable energy, and promote consumer awareness. In response to the challenges posed by climate change, we provide innovative, localized, and adaptable solutions for effective water management.

Together, let’s champion ecological transformation.

Position Overview

As part of the Local Sewage Treatment Plant Service, under the guidance of the Local Service Manager and Team Leader, you will integrate into the existing team and carry out maintenance, troubleshooting, monitoring, and installation of operational equipment at the wastewater treatment facility.

  • Manage and unload chemical treatment substances.
  • Perform analyses on incoming materials from hydro-cleaning vehicles.
  • Ensure accurate waste tracking and documentation.
  • Notify management of any process irregularities or equipment failures.
  • Oversee waste production and coordinate evacuations with management.
  • Maintain cleanliness of structures to uphold installation integrity.
  • Ensure the overall functionality of equipment in your work area.
  • Operate the wastewater treatment plant and pumping stations: conduct field checks and analyses, manage sludge removal, and ensure the effective operation of assigned facilities. The technician should possess a solid understanding of the plant's processes, be self-sufficient and organized to manage operations independently, and prioritize effectively in emergency situations during working hours and on-call.
  • Dismantle pumps and other equipment as necessary for operational or corrective actions.
  • Adhere to operational protocols and propose enhancements.
  • Maximize equipment efficiency.

Reporting Responsibilities

  • Complete intervention logs and relay information to management.
  • Document daily activities using company tools and applications.
  • Report any anomalies or equipment malfunctions encountered during operations.
  • Utilize company digital applications effectively.

Health and Safety / QHSE

  • Ensure installations are secured before and during projects in accordance with certifications.
  • Comply with quality-safety-environment management system procedures.
  • Maintain work equipment and tools in good condition.
  • Facilitate the presence of external parties on-site while enforcing safety protocols.

Cross-Functional Responsibilities

  • Contribute to environmental and energy performance at sites operated by the company.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and compliance, along with relevant procedures.

This position is based at the wastewater treatment facility. You will be required to work throughout the designated metropolitan area, particularly on-call, to ensure service continuity. A valid driver's license is necessary.

Qualifications

You possess a BAC +2 degree in Water Management, Electromechanics, or related fields, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in wastewater treatment operations.

Proficiency in computer tools (Google Suite, telemetry/supervision for alarm analysis, etc.) is essential.

Beyond your educational background, problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset are highly valued.

You are inquisitive and self-reliant.
