Key Responsibilities
As an ESG Analyst focusing on Equity and Corporate Credit, your responsibilities will encompass:
- Performing in-depth analysis on corporate entities regarding their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities utilizing Candriam's distinctive and proprietary ESG evaluation framework.
- Assisting in the upkeep, advancement, and refinement of Candriam's ESG Analysis and Rating system, both at the sector and issuer levels, to seamlessly incorporate ESG evaluations into the investment strategy across equity and fixed income asset classes.
- Engaging with corporate entities on pertinent ESG matters and collaborating with Candriam's Stewardship Team on joint initiatives.
- Collaborating with fellow analysts and financial analysts within fund management teams to evaluate the significance or financial implications of ESG factors on the long-term value of corporate entities.
- Conducting research on ESG-related subjects, identifying emerging ESG trends, and supporting ESG thought leadership initiatives both internally and externally.
- Producing and disseminating ESG articles, reports, and presentations (to support our international offices and clients) on Candriam's ESG methodologies or tailored thematic issues.
- Serving as an active member of the fund management committee for Candriam's diverse range of ESG Thematic funds.
Candidate Profile
- Master's degree required.
- A solid understanding of finance is crucial, though it can be gained through experience.
- Familiarity with and experience in sustainable investing is preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in ESG Research and/or financial analysis within an asset management firm, investment bank, or similar financial institution.
- A strong interest in and foundational understanding of ESG topics and their significance for financial market analysis, valuation, and risk assessment in both equity and fixed income.
- Ability to articulate ideas effectively.
- Excellent team collaborator, eager to share knowledge and focus on collective achievements.
- Strong writing and communication skills (English proficiency preferred).
- High energy level.
- Problem-solving mindset, organized, methodical, and pragmatic in approach.
- Strong analytical capabilities with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Aptitude for data manipulation and analysis.
- Native proficiency in English or French (with high proficiency in English).
