We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled PhD researcher to join our team at Airbus Operations SAS in Toulouse, France. As a PhD researcher, you will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project focused on developing new composite materials and structures for aircraft applications.

About the Project:

The PhD project will focus on studying the behavior of composite sandwich structures under bird strike impacts. You will be responsible for designing and manufacturing innovative cellular materials and meta-materials for energy absorption, as well as developing dynamic explicit finite element models to simulate the impact behavior.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on composite materials and structures for bird strike resistance
  • Design and manufacture innovative cellular materials and meta-materials for energy absorption
  • Develop dynamic explicit finite element models to simulate impact behavior
  • Collaborate with the research team to identify the most influencing parameters of the leading edge concept for bird strike resistance

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
  • Strong background in composite materials, finite element modeling, and dynamic simulations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Fluency in English and French
