Context and Benefits

This PhD student position is part of a research project focused on developing privacy-preserving federated learning algorithms for applications in oncology. The successful candidate will work closely with the MAGNET team and international partners to contribute to the project's goals.

Research Objectives

The PhD student will investigate and develop novel algorithms for secure, privacy-preserving federated learning in settings with potentially malicious participants. The research will focus on applications in the field of oncology, with potential contributions to the project's open source library.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the research of the TRUMPET, FLUTE, and REDEEM projects
  • Collaborate with other MAGNET team members and project partners
  • Disseminate research results

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science and mathematics, with expertise in machine learning, statistics, cryptography, and distributed systems. Good programming skills and relational skills are also essential.

Salary

1st and 2nd year: 2100€ gross monthly salary (before taxes)

3rd year: 2190€ gross monthly salary (before taxes)
