Your Role
The Global Projects Centre (GPC) serves as Subsea7's hub of excellence for executing our largest projects worldwide.
As part of the Subsea Structures & Piping Design Department, you will oversee a Package of Structures, reporting directly to an Engineering Manager within a GPC Project. Your responsibilities will include organizing, coordinating, and managing team interfaces, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality engineering solutions that meet both commercial and technical requirements.
As a specialist in Subsea Structures & Piping Design, you will be a key reference for your team, supporting knowledge management and technology initiatives related to the Structures & Piping Design Discipline.
As a leader, you will foster a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea7, ensuring compliance with local HSEQ codes and practices.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a package of structures within a project, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery under your supervision.
- Lead design activities of high complexity, including deliverables such as engineering support to the Drawing Office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports, and various third-party submissions.
- Sign and issue technical documentation as either originator or checker, taking personal responsibility for its adequacy.
- Provide specialized skills, integrity, and knowledge in key areas of Subsea Structures & Piping Design engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements, and current best engineering practices.
- Understand client needs, identify design parameters and challenges, and propose, develop, and implement effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements.
- Represent the company in technical meetings and correspondence with clients, subcontractors, and third parties.
Your Qualifications:
- Engineering Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in the SURF business, Oil and Gas, Subsea equipment, or Offshore Renewables structural design activities (steel construction & mechanics).
- Proven ability to organize and prioritize workloads, manage time effectively, and direct team members in response to project constraints.
- Relevant experience at a senior level in Oil and Gas, Subsea equipment, or Offshore Renewables structural design activities.
- Strong knowledge and experience in steel construction structural design, naval architecture, material strength, and permanent structures design (ILTs, PLETs).
- Familiarity with industry standards and design codes (AISC, API, ABS, BV, DNV, Eurocodes).
- Proficiency in design and analysis software packages (Abaqus, ANSYS, SACS, NSO/ISYMOST).
- Solid understanding of piping, connectors, valves, and forgings, along with associated design codes and materials, including steels, composites, and plastics.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with fluency in both French and English.
