Job Title: Early Head Start Teacher
Job Summary:
This position serves as the professional representative of the Community Action Partnership in the classroom and community. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality early education and child development services, promoting healthy development, and supporting children's skill growth aligned with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality early education and child development services, implementing the Head Start Performance Standards, Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework, Daycare Licensing Minimum Standards, Agency Policies and Procedures, Creative Curriculum, Alabama Early Learning Guidelines, and Alabama Developmental Standards for Preschool Children.
- Regularly communicate with parents to ensure they are well-informed about their child's routines, activities, and behavior.
- Engage in the Practice-Based Coaching Model and enter time daily.
- Monitor and ensure all required paperwork is entered into the data system correctly and submitted on time with 100% accuracy.
- Assess children's development and learning, individualizing with children based on their needs and interests.
- Accountable for time in EWS and participate in Parent Conferences and Home Visits.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) with experience working with young children.
- A preferred AA or BS degree in Early Childhood or a related field.
- Valid driver's license, proof of vehicle insurance, and a safe driving record.
- Proficient computer skills.
Working Conditions:
This position requires working in a classroom setting conducive to the activities of young children, actively engaging children in play, and making two home visits per child each school year. The Teacher may encounter children with challenging behaviors and is expected to maintain a safe and welcoming environment that supports the unique culture, ethnic, and economic backgrounds of the families.
