We are seeking a Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Engineer for a significant project with the following details:
Location: Remote
Contract Duration: 12 months
Work Schedule: 5 days a week
Daily Hours: 8 hours
Employment Status: Resident
Qualifications & Experience Required:
The role demands the following qualifications and expertise:
- Master's degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Pre-commissioning and Commissioning, particularly with a Process Engineering background
- Proficiency in software tools such as MS Office, PDF or Bluebeam, and 3D modeling tools; familiarity with completion tools (e.g., Icaps, Easyplant) and/or process simulation tools (e.g., Hysys, Flarenet) is a plus
- Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience in the Onshore or Offshore Oil & Gas sector in a similar role
- Practical site experience with an understanding of risks and opportunities related to site activities
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure high-quality execution of preparation work in accordance with the PC&C schedule, budget, and contract during the Front End Engineering Design phase.
- Report any technical findings or potential safety concerns to the management.
- Collaborate with various engineering disciplines to integrate PC&C requirements into detailed designs.
- Draft and update Pre-commissioning and Commissioning strategies, procedures, method statements, and technical studies, incorporating project and client feedback.
- Develop a Pre-commissioning and Commissioning sequence that aligns with project requirements and company constraints.
- Formulate a Completion & Handover strategy, ensuring the company’s delivery timelines are maintained.
- Prepare technical studies for key PC&C activities, supporting the bidding process for subcontractors.
- Review scopes of work for Pre-commissioning and Commissioning subcontractors and evaluate their proposals.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among company representatives, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Identify and highlight any potential work process improvements.
Note: The engineer will collaborate closely with the onshore activity manager and may require occasional site visits.
Additional Tasks:
- Review and provide feedback on PFDs, P&IDs, and discipline drawings to ensure commissioning and start-up requirements are met.
- Define a preliminary systems list to aid in schedule preparation.
- Develop commissioning sequences and collaborate with the planning team to create detailed PC&C schedules.
- Assist the subcontracting team in defining scopes of work and responsibilities for site activities.
- Create method statements and project procedures related to commissioning and start-up tasks.
- Engage in supplier clarification and bidding processes to ensure design considerations align with commissioning requirements.
- Coordinate with various disciplines during project execution and participate in key multidisciplinary reviews.
- Prepare Pre-commissioning and Commissioning specifications and procedures in line with contractual requirements and project standards.
- Compile lists of vendors, spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for estimating PC&C costs.
- Review engineering specifications and supplier documentation.
- Contribute to technical workshops and progress reports regarding PC&C activities.
