Position OverviewRole Summary:
We are seeking a water specialist to enhance our capabilities in this critical area, which is essential for the growth of our environmental services.
The position demands a comprehensive understanding of water and flood risk management, hydrology, fluvial and urban hydraulics, groundwater, watershed management, geomorphology, and design related to major infrastructure projects.
- Conducting Flood Risk Assessments for Planning Applications
- Developing Surface Water Management Plans
- Performing Water Framework Directive Assessments
- Implementing Water Monitoring Programs
In addition to collaborating with clients on exciting infrastructure initiatives, you will also support business development and sales efforts to identify and secure new opportunities within your area of expertise.
Initial Role Responsibilities:
- Experience required in the following areas:
- Identifying Water Framework Directive (WFD) bodies, assessing their status, and supporting evaluations of construction impacts on WFD water bodies
- Providing advice on construction mitigation measures
- Understanding WFD Derogation requirements
- Additionally, the candidate will be expected to assist with:
- Aligning construction phases and permanent asset works to ensure a consistent approach and effective communication with key stakeholders (e.g., Environment Agency)
- Managing the assessment process
- Facilitating stakeholder engagement, including:
- Preparation meetings with clients
- Chairing stakeholder meetings
- Interpreting Environment Agency requirements
- A degree in a relevant environmental, geographical, scientific, or engineering discipline is essential
- An MSc or PhD in hydrology, water quality, geomorphology, or marine science is desirable
