Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA Project Manager to join our team at Safran Electronics & Defense. As a key member of our FPGA Integrated Business Unit, you will be responsible for leading a team of architects, designers, and verifiers to deliver high-performance FPGA solutions for our Navigation product line.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the project schedule, ensuring timely delivery of resources and meeting performance, latency, and size constraints.
- Establish a clear development roadmap, taking into account project constraints and certification requirements (DO-254 if applicable).
- Consolidate quotes, track costs, risks, and opportunities, and identify make-or-buy opportunities.
- Ensure clear communication of project progress and technical advancements to the project team and management.
- Lead and mentor a team of experienced and junior engineers, promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Ensure adherence to methodologies and best practices within the FPGA Integrated Business Unit.
- Participate in reviews and acceptance of internal and external deliverables.
- Pilot subcontracting activities and participate in the Contractual Officer's Panel (COPIL).
- Participate in internal and external reviews with clients (audit of certification DO-254 possible).
- Provide technical support to FPGA teams as needed.
- Solicit expert advice from internal experts and external partners for complex topics.
- Provide technical support to connected teams (Software, Electronics, Systems).
Requirements
- Confirmed experience as an FPGA Design Engineer (at least 5 years).
- Experience in FPGA architecture, design, and verification, including:
- Complete autonomy and mastery of the following phases: requirement validation, feasibility study, resource estimation, design, verification, configuration management.
- Mastery of HDL description languages (Verilog or SystemVerilog preferred).
- Mastery of STA constraints.
- Mastery of simulation tools (Questa), synthesis/P&R tools (Synplify Pro, Libero, Vivado), and configuration management tools (Git).
- Competencies and soft skills:
- Pilotage and animation of a team.
- Ability to convince and argue.
- Aptitude for tutoring and mentoring junior engineers.
- Organized and rigorous.
- Autonomous.
- Good interpersonal skills and communication.
