Business Overview
Are you ready to contribute to the booming hospitality sector? We are on the lookout for a skilled QA Engineer to become part of our Amadeus Channel Manager Direct (ACMD) team and help us develop our next-generation cloud-native Channel Manager solution.
The Channel Manager plays a crucial role in linking numerous hotels with various distribution channels, aiming to streamline the distribution of Availability, Rate, and Inventory (ARI) as well as Reservation delivery from a multitude of OTAs, Wholesalers, Tour Operators, Channel Managers, and Meta Partners, including renowned names like Expedia, Ctrip, and Agoda.
This component is essential, requiring high availability and the capability for extensive scalability to support our ambitious growth objectives.
Key Design Features of ACMD:
- Speed, scalability, and reliability to manage up to 20 million ARI events daily.
- Facilitation of necessary orchestration, data model translation, and message conversion between ACMD and our partners.

Your Primary Responsibilities
General Accountabilities:
- Possess the necessary technical and functional expertise in your field, with an understanding of the Amadeus business as it relates to your area.
- Operate within established procedures or guidelines, providing insights to influence decisions in your area. Propose new solutions and improvements by analyzing various information sources.
- Work with a moderate level of guidance and direction from your manager.
Specific Accountabilities:
Test Strategy
- Participate in specification and architecture reviews, providing feedback on potential impacts, risks, issues, or gaps based on your experience.
- Develop a comprehensive test strategy and plan that includes test cases (both functional and non-functional), ensuring traceability with specifications and customer requirements.
- Ensure that the test strategy complies with CI/CD guidelines, Green IT principles, and all quality standards (SDL, STDL), as well as industry best practices (ISTQB, etc.).
Test Expertise
- Design and document test cases and scripts.
- Prepare the testing environment and data, executing test cases accordingly.
- Provide sign-off (go/no-go) on features based on established exit criteria.
- Continuously evaluate the need to add, update, or remove test cases in the existing regression and CI/CD pipeline as new product features are introduced, based on metrics.
- As part of maintenance activities, investigate PTRs, test fixes, and enhance test suites as necessary.
Test Automation
- Assess the need to automate certain test scripts.
- Utilize the test automation framework and contribute to its enhancement.
Defect Management
- Log defects for software or documentation, assigning appropriate severity levels based on the issue's significance, and provide relevant information for resolution.
- Verify defect fixes and provide go/no-go recommendations for production loads.
Reporting
- Communicate test activities to the line organization, software developers, and product definition analysts.
- Provide visibility on testing campaigns and milestones to all stakeholders.
Support
- Offer mentoring and tailored support to newcomers.
- Provide assistance to QA Engineer peers based on your experience.
Knowledge Sharing
- Share insights on specific topics (technical/functional) and disseminate knowledge within the QA community and other stakeholders.
Quality Assurance Advocacy
- Take responsibility for the quality control of projects, products, or releases.
- Promote quality assurance best practices based on the highest standards within relevant teams and quality communities.
Technical Proficiency
- Effectively utilize the QA tooling stack and frameworks.
- Propose improvements for existing tools or the development of new ones.
- Be proactive regarding any issues or changes that may impact the daily tasks of QA peers.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive initiatives to enhance current quality processes within a constantly evolving development lifecycle framework.
- Participate in understanding, measuring, and reducing the environmental impact of tested applications and associated QA activities.
