Position OverviewThe Mechanical and Piping Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing site operations related to process piping, equipment (both static and rotating), and HVAC aspects of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and manage execution drawings, specifications, welding documentation, and material certifications in compliance with local regulations.
- Coordinate work permits in alignment with project timelines.
- Conduct regular inspections of contractor activities (including prefabrication, welding, lifting, and installation) to ensure adherence to approved designs, specifications, and permits.
- Supervise and direct the construction activities for piping, equipment, and HVAC scopes.
- Collaborate with the HSE Manager to implement the project HSE plan effectively.
- Manage work interfaces, including tie-ins between contractors and suppliers.
- Work closely with the Logistics Manager to ensure timely deliveries on site.
- Perform quality assurance checks on materials (including piping, fittings, steel supports, and ducts).
- Coordinate with the Schedule Manager to ensure timely completion of tasks and propose alternative sequences if necessary.
- Address and resolve conflicts with contractors and suppliers.
- Maintain detailed daily records of work progress and quality control measures.
- Participate in construction meetings to ensure alignment and communication.
- Lead weekly coordination meetings with contractors and document meeting minutes.
- Oversee the compilation of the PED (DESP) complete file with third-party entities.
- Support the superintendent role by managing a team of supervisors (1 to 3 depending on project requirements).
- Report to the Construction Director by providing weekly and monthly written updates.
Required Qualifications:
- 10-12 years of experience in supervising piping and equipment projects.
- Proficiency in both French and English.
- Safety-first mindset.
