Global Category Buyer - A Key Role in Sourcing Excellence

At Givaudan, we are committed to delivering exceptional taste and scent experiences that touch people's lives. As a Global Category Buyer, you will play a crucial role in shaping our sourcing strategy for the Natural Specialties category.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement category strategies to source high-quality raw materials.
  2. Analyze market trends and implement risk management strategies to ensure a stable supply chain.
  3. Lead cross-functional teams to develop sourcing strategies for key categories.
  4. Drive sourcing strategy implementation through major RFQs and key negotiations.
  5. Negotiate contracts globally to secure the best possible terms.
  6. Ensure contract compliance and manage supplier relationships.
  7. Select, manage, and visit suppliers to ensure they meet our quality and availability standards.
  8. Identify opportunities for portfolio optimization and collaborate with creation and manufacturing teams to develop optimization plans.
  9. Manage critical supply issues related to quality and availability, and find solutions with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Stakeholder Relationship:
  1. Communicate market conditions changes to internal stakeholders and the Senior Global Category Manager.
  2. Support responsible sourcing projects and provide information to the Procurement Sustainability Manager as needed.
  3. Collaborate with the innovation team to identify the right source of supply and procure raw materials needed for their development projects.
  4. Work with suppliers to improve Scope 3 emissions and reach our targets on CO2 emissions.
Cost Optimization:
  1. Provide information for the business planning process.
  2. Develop cost reduction projects to improve our bottom line.
  3. Provide price forecasts and market trends for key commodities to inform our procurement decisions.
Your Professional Profile:
  1. University degree in Procurement or equivalent experience.
  2. Agronomy background is an asset.
  3. 5 years' experience in Procurement and/or functional experience.
  4. Knowledge of the F&F/Natural products industry.
  5. Specific technical and market knowledge in the respective category.
  6. International exposure in any previous role.
  7. Fluent in English and French.
  8. Cultural awareness and adaptability to fast-changing business requirements.
  9. Passion for success with a high energy level.
