Global Category Manager - Technical Categories

We are seeking a seasoned Global Category Manager to lead our technical categories procurement efforts. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing global category strategies to drive cost savings and improve supplier performance.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement global category strategies to drive cost savings and improve supplier performance.
  2. Analyze market trends and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential risks.
  3. Lead global sourcing strategy development and implementation, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  4. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
  5. Select, manage, and audit suppliers to ensure compliance with company standards.
  6. Identify opportunities for portfolio optimization and develop plans to implement changes.
  7. Own key supplier relationships and resolve escalated conflicts.
  8. Collaborate with site buyers, regional category managers, and sourcing centers to identify alternative suppliers and deploy global strategies.
  9. Communicate market conditions changes to internal stakeholders and drive cost improvements.
Requirements:
  1. University degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or other technical field.
  2. Specific procurement education preferred.
  3. At least 7 years of experience in IM&S procurement of technical categories, with minimum 5 years of experience in CAPEX procurement.
  4. Fluency in English and French.
  5. Experience in engineering services sourcing and EPCM project execution model.
  6. Experience running tenders with high complexity.
  7. International exposure in previous role.
