As part of the French Finance department and reporting to the Senior Finance Manager for the AFMED Region, you will be accountable for ensuring the accuracy of financial records for French entities and enhancing their financial performance. The Financial Operations Manager will oversee accounting functions, generate precise and insightful reports on financial performance and outlook, and refine existing practices to optimize efficiency.

The Financial Operations Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all financial activities across various projects and countries within the designated scope.

Key Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Provide strategic and financial insights to ensure financial goals are achieved or surpassed.
  • Enforce relevant policies and procedures to guarantee sound financial management and control within the scope.
  • Ensure the efficient, timely, accurate, and cost-effective management and delivery of the Finance function's activities.
  • Plan, organize, manage, and continuously enhance processes in alignment with Subsea 7's global operational standards.
  • Develop constructive and professional relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the execution of the Business Unit budget and plan by establishing clear and achievable objectives for direct reports.
  • Provide strategic direction, leadership, supervision, and mentoring to the finance team.
  • Support the professional and career development of the finance team within the Business Unit.

Role Specific Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Oversee statutory and tax filings in compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Review monthly financial reports and provide insightful analysis on performance and position.
  • Collaborate with the Group Tax team to minimize exposure and ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Ensure optimal cash generation and management of working capital in coordination with Group Treasury.
  • Responsible for financial controls and compliance for the countries within the scope.

Monthly Controls (Management Scope):

  • Supervise cost control tasks and present final reports with variance analyses within the defined timeline.

Quarterly Accounting Control (Multiple French Legal Entities):

  • Analyze entity transfer pricing profit centers, including manual and automated postings.
  • Review non-GPC East Region P&L items affecting French entities in collaboration with relevant cost controllers.
  • Produce a comprehensive analytical review of entity P&L.
  • Monitor tax payments to French authorities.
  • Prepare legal entity forecast journals, including markup and overhead cost allocations.
  • Invoice entity overhead costs to project entities.

Annual Analysis:

  • Analyze statutory accounts during interim and annual closings.
  • Manage the annual budget process and define personnel hourly rates.
  • Prepare financial forecasts based on legal entity projections and present to the worker council.
  • Oversee French tax computations and returns with support from tax experts for specific inquiries.

Management: This role includes direct management of an Accounting Manager, four accountants, and three Cost Controllers.

Required Skills:

  • Top-level Master's degree.
  • Knowledge of French taxation, local GAAP, and IFRS accounting standards.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Finance within an international context.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven experience as a team leader or manager.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis capabilities.
  • Ability to articulate financial data effectively.
  • Proficiency in office software.
  • Familiarity with SAP/BFC is advantageous.
  • Fluent in both English and French.
