We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Superintendent to join our team in Marseille. As a key member of our CMA Ships team, you will be responsible for representing the shipowner on board ships and in ports, ensuring the operational monitoring of container ships, and implementing innovative solutions to optimize performance and achieve our Net Zero Carbon objective by 2050.
Responsibilities- Ensure the operational monitoring of container ships, including investigations, purchases, and repairs to comply with shipping technical norms and company standards.
- Supervise and coordinate crew members and external participants during technical interventions.
- Challenge root cause analysis of defects raised by third parties and import feedbacks in owned fleet.
- Act as the key contact for chief engineers, captains, lines, and shipyards, and draw up and monitor operational budgets allocated to each vessel.
- Update all shipping documents and official certificates necessary for the vessel.
- Control vessel consumptions and participate in their optimization for decarbonization and cost savings purposes.
- Ensure the good conditions of the vessels' seaworthiness and business performance.
- Chief/second engineer license or degree in naval engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience as a seafarer and/or in a similar position.
- Very fluent in spoken and written English and proficient with office and IT tools.
- Good knowledge of international shipping regulations and expert knowledge in a technical field (hull, engines, etc.) is appreciated.
- Interest in decarbonization topics related to the maritime industry.
- Rigour, responsiveness, and capacity for analysis and synthesis, combined with interpersonal skills, enables you to succeed in your missions.
The position involves frequent business trips (about 45 days/year). We offer a dynamic and challenging work environment, opportunities for professional growth, and a competitive compensation package.
