Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance strategy for the EMEA region, aligning with the company's global objectives.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that Checkout's operations in EMEA adhere to all applicable regulations, laws, and guidelines, and provide strategic guidance on regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks across the region, and oversee the development and implementation of compliance risk management frameworks.
- Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, update, and implement compliance policies and procedures tailored to the EMEA region, and ensure consistent application and understanding of compliance policies across all regional offices.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of compliance professionals across the EMEA region, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the compliance team.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management and other departments to integrate compliance considerations into business operations, and provide compliance-related training and support to employees across the region.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and the board, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in compliance, preferably within the fintech or financial services industry.
- Extensive experience in managing compliance in the EMEA region, with a strong understanding of the regulatory landscape.
- Experience of managing teams across multiple geographies.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and developing compliance teams.
- Deep knowledge of EMEA financial regulations, including AML, KYC, GDPR, and payment services regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex regulatory issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
