Job Title: Process and Safety Engineer

Location:

The Process Safety Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the HSE integrity of the Berre Additives units. Reporting to the Additives Operations manager, this position is responsible for assessing HSE risks associated with changes in the Berre Additives plant, from small modifications to major projects.

The ideal candidate will strike a balance between meeting HSE standards and requirements while maintaining cost-effective solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Operations manager on process safety issues
  • Presenting high-risk scenarios to management and developing action plans
  • Acting as the focal point for the Environmental French Agency (DREAL) to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain a positive relationship
  • Organizing DREAL visits and following up on associated action plans
  • Updating safety studies for the Additives units in line with French regulations
  • Leading HSE risk assessments as needed
  • Promoting process safety on site through coaching and expertise development
  • Participating in corporate or external audits related to HSE
  • Developing expertise in process safety, including risk assessments, HSE design standards, and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in chemical engineering
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand, gather, and synthesize information
