Key Responsibilities:
Applies in-depth knowledge on the definition and dimensioning phase for new SDR satellite generation and LEO constellations, taking into account strategic, commercial, and operational requirements and industrial issues.
Contributes to the development of contractual documentation.
Develops technical solutions in support of the Commercial and Strategy Department for the development of new systems and applications, particularly involving SDR satellites and constellations.
Identifies innovative concepts for Eutelsat satellites and assesses their relevance, and develops opportunities for externally funded projects (e.g. ESA, EC).
Participates in the establishment of cost assessments for satellite and constellation systems.
Performs and manages technical studies and assessments towards the optimization/evaluation of communication performance requirements/utilization of EUTELSAT's satellites, including those in the definition phase, in production, and in-orbit when new applications or redeployments are required.
Provides expertise, in coordination with Payload Engineers, for assessing the impact of non-compliances and proposing mitigations for satellites in production.
Proposes solutions, in coordination with Payload Engineers and Operations Engineers, to anomalies of SDR satellites in-orbit regarding system-level communications and processor performance.
Stays abreast of satellite, processed payload (including active antennas), and communications technology and architectures.
Requirements:
University honors degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical, Physics, or a related field.
At least 10 years of experience in satellite communications and/or payload engineering, including a few years of experience in processed communication payload with on-board digital processors, software-defined radio, optical links, and active antennas.
Good knowledge of satellite and constellation systems engineering, propagation, link budgets.
Knowledge of digital communications and signal processing.
Ability to work in a team.
Excellent knowledge of English.
